Safe and Sustainable Data Centers in Italy
Program Description
We are on the precipice of a new AI energy era, with multiple factors that will challenge the energy system and create opportunities for commercial, scientific, and technological innovation and growth. Dramatic new energy demands are reshaping the power industry, mostly through reindustrialization, data centers, and electrification of everything. This course is ideal for those aiming to manage energy sustainability of data centers and apply best practices in the evolving energy infrastructure which refers as much to the digital networks that enable our AI economy as the power plants that keep the lights on. It also includes the services and systems that ensure these assets are reliable, resilient, and equitably accessed. The energy solution for data centers will come down to a rapid and sustained build-out of new baseload power, dispatchable generation, and electric utility grid capacity. On this program, students will learn how to integrate energy efficiency and sustainable solutions into data center operations, ensuring how data centers can contribute positively to the global climate agenda.
