Miad Faezipour, associate professor of electrical and computer engineering technology in Purdue Polytechnic's School of Engineering Technology, co-authored Applications of Large Language Models (LLM) in Healthcare Systems: Opportunities, Challenges, and Ethical Considerations.
The book explores the use of large language models in health care, including clinical decision support, medical imaging, patient communication and administrative tasks. It also addresses questions around privacy, bias and regulation.
Faezipour is a full member of the Regenstrief Center for Healthcare Engineering, co-lead of the Polytechnic Digital Health Innovation Center and founder and director of the Digital/Biomedical Embedded Systems & Technology research laboratory.
