Forbes ranks Purdue’s online master’s in IT as best in the nation

Forbes Advisor recently ranked the online Master of Science in Computer and Information Technology (MSCIT) at Purdue Polytechnic as the top program of its kind in the United States.

The publication evaluated academic institutions nationwide to determine the 10 best online master's programs in information technology. Purdue secured the No. 1 position, outperforming programs at institutions such as Carnegie Mellon University, Northeastern University and Virginia Tech.

Forbes cited several key metrics for Purdue's top placement. Evaluators noted that Purdue scored in the upper half of ranked institutions for its low average tuition, high graduation rate and low student loan default rate.

The publication also highlighted post-graduation outcomes, pointing to the high median earnings for alumni 10 years after graduation. Additionally, Forbes emphasized Purdue's status as a national research leader, noting that the university employs the highest number of graduate assistants among all ranked schools.

The MSCIT program, administered by the School of Applied and Creative Computing, requires applicants to have between one and three years of relevant professional experience.
