Anne M. Lucietto received the Women in Technology and Leadership Award from the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Central Indiana Section.
The IEEE Central Indiana Section presented the honor during its annual awards banquet in Indianapolis on August 8. The organization uses the award to recognize professionals who advance engineering, innovation, and mentorship. The selection committee specifically honors individuals who support the growth of women in technical fields.
"I am deeply honored to receive this recognition and grateful to the colleagues, students, mentors, and collaborators who have supported and inspired my work," Lucietto said. "This award reflects our shared commitment to advancing engineering and technology while creating opportunities for the next generation of professionals."
Lucietto serves as an associate professor in the School of Engineering Technology. She researches sustainable energy, workforce development, and engineering education. She published the book "Innovating for Tomorrow: Engineering Technology" in May 2026. The book examines the field's evolution and highlights the contributions of women in engineering.
Lucietto has received multiple national honors over the past academic year. The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) named her an ASME Fellow recently. Fewer than 5 percent of the society's 70,000 members hold that distinction. The Society of Women Engineers awarded her the 2025 Distinguished Engineering Educator Award last fall.
Lucietto brings extensive private sector experience to her academic roles. She previously managed facilities, maintenance, and system reliability in the energy generation, chemical processing, and nuclear plant operations industries.
