Anne M. Lucietto, an associate professor in the School of Engineering Technology, received the Fellow designation from the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME).
The ASME Fellow grade recognizes exceptional engineering achievements and contributions to the profession. Fewer than five percent of ASME's more than 70,000 members hold this distinction.
Lucietto transitioned to academia after a career in private industry. She previously worked in energy generation, chemical processing, and nuclear plant operations. Her industry roles focused primarily on facilities, maintenance, and system reliability.
She currently researches sustainable energy, workforce development, and engineering education. The ASME recognition follows a highly active year for Lucietto's academic output. In May 2026, she published the book "Innovating for Tomorrow: Engineering Technology," which examines the evolving landscape of the field and the contributions of women in engineering.
Last fall, the Society of Women Engineers also honored Lucietto with the 2025 Distinguished Engineering Educator Award for her leadership in the technology community.
ASME will formally recognize Lucietto in the coming months.
