Purdue Polytechnic to host Research and Industry Day in Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS—Purdue Polytechnic will host an Industry and Research Day on April 2 in downtown Indianapolis, connecting faculty researchers with corporate partners to explore technological solutions and workforce development.

The free event at the Skyline Club in the OneAmerica building runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. It features faculty research showcases, rapid-fire lightning talks, and a networking poster session. Daniel Castro, dean of Purdue Polytechnic, will deliver opening remarks, followed later in the program by an engagement message from David Umulis, senior vice provost for Purdue University in Indianapolis.

Presentations will cover five primary applied research areas: artificial intelligence and data analytics; cybersecurity and infrastructure; advanced manufacturing; digital twins and spatial computing; and education innovation.

Attendees will hear directly from more than a dozen principal investigators on specific, applied projects. Scheduled topics include Shu Hu discussing methods for combating AI-generated fake multimedia, Ryan Case presenting a GIS analysis of drone operator reactions, and Suranjan Panigrahi explaining strategic approaches for integrating AI in manufacturing.

Justin Yang, associate dean for research, noted in an invitation to corporate partners that the event is designed to create a highly interactive environment. The goal is to foster dialogue that leads to tangible partnerships in research, talent development, and technological innovation.

Lunch will be provided during the poster session, and optional campus tours will be available before the event concludes.
