Wearable CO2 Sensor - Team 1

The Atmospheric Redox Exchange Sensor Project, also known as the Wearable CO₂ Sensor Project, centers on developing a compact, head-mounted system capable of monitoring atmospheric gas exchange in real time. The system integrates multiple client-supplied CO₂ sensors onto custom printed circuit boards (PCBs), enabling precise and parallel environmental measurements.

Motion pose Machine Learning

The project collaborates with Purdue’s VIP research team to develop an interactive system that performs motion tracking and allows users to customize their own art through a dedicated interface. Using a Raspberry Pi 5 connected to the Raspberry Pi AI Camera and the AI Hat Top 26+, the system processes captured video and identifies objects for motion tracking.

Side Spool Pre-Feeder (Group 15)

Schweitzer Engineering Labs is a company that specializes in many technologies, mainly in the energy field. The specific office for this project makes and distributes Coaxial communication cable and uses a 15-year-old custom cable pulling machine to wind said cable. The goal for this project is to have a new system that has high torque capabilities to pull the heavy-duty coaxial cables more efficiently and faster. The current machine has safety and ergonomic risks and is said to operate on an obsolete system.

Group 18 - SMART Lab

A problem has been identified regarding bottlenecks within the SMF lab, necessitating an analysis for line balancing. The organization of parts is also under review, including improvements in warehouse management, as the current bin storage system is being removed. Stock inventory strategies are being assessed, with comparisons between Just-in-Time (JIT) and Just-in-Case (JIC) approaches, alongside evaluations of make-versus-buy decisions for inventory and the Haas machine.
