PLEASE NOTE: The Plan of Study on this page is presented for general information only. It demonstrates degree requirements; however, a great deal of flexibility is possible within those requirements. Each student must work with his or her faculty advisor and committee to develop their final plan of study. This custom plan of study is subject to unanimous approval of the student’s advisory committee.

Also note that in an ideal plan of study, Semester 4 would consist only of the thesis and defense course; however, the displayed plan reflects a requirement for our international students who must maintain the following minimum credit hours to maintain their U.S. visa status:

  • 6 credit hours for those with assistantships
  • 8 credit hours for those without assistantships

This sample plan of study is effective as of fall 2013
