The Naval Science minor covers the academic riggers of the professional core competencies to become a Navy Ensign or Marine Corps Second Lieutenant.  These include but are not limited to Naval customs and traditions, uniforms, departmental organization, career paths, institutional values and ethics, capabilities and limitations of Naval weaponry, command and control systems, naval mission and basic organization, Naval history, US Navy and Marine Corps origins, navigation, engineering systems, Rules of the Road, ship handling, history of amphibious warfare, symmetric and asymmetric principles of warfare, leadership and management, leadership and ethics, and the professional behavior of a Naval Officer.
