The Student Design Organization (SDO), a group representing Purdue Polytechnic's Interior Architecture program in Indianapolis, hosted its 25th annual show on Feb. 23 at the Indianapolis Artsgarden.
The event brought together students across Purdue University in Indianapolis to showcase their portfolios and engage with industry professionals. Purdue Polytechnic's dean, Daniel Castro, was in attendance on the day. The milestone anniversary event featured a vendor expo supported by more than 30 industry sponsors, providing students with significant networking opportunities.
In addition to the student work display and competition, the event included a competitive charette-a timed design challenge that tests students' creativity and rapid problem-solving skills.
Attendees also gathered for a luncheon featuring a keynote discussion by Tiffany Juline of Hendricks Commercial Properties. Juline discussed the Traction Yards Development, a major project relevant to the local built environment.
The SDO is a student-run organization dedicated to helping interior architecture students succeed academically and professionally. The group is advised by Emily McLaughlin, an associate professor of practice in the School of Construction Management Technology and an associate site director for interior architecture.
