Aviation and Transportation Technology Research
The School of Aviation and Transportation Technology at Purdue Polytechnic approaches its research through a framework that strives to extend impact by aligning with large-scale, cross-disciplinary goals centered on safety, quality, and sustainability in the aviation and transportation sectors. Research efforts integrate modern areas such as digitally enabled enterprise systems, holistic security, and enhanced learning and work systems to explore how transportation networks can become safer, more efficient, more resilient, and more environmentally conscious. Students and faculty collaborate on projects like intelligent monitoring systems, airport data logging, and design competitions that push forward practical solutions in airport operations and aviation infrastructure. The work is supported by centers of excellence and a diverse set of interests spanning from sensors and data systems to operational safety and sustainability practices.
