Bowen School of Construction faculty complete industry externship with Gaylor Electric

Esra Tepeli and Soowon Chang completed a faculty externship with Gaylor Electric this summer. Tepeli and Chang serve as faculty members in Purdue Polytechnic's Bowen School of Construction.

The professors collaborated with Gaylor Electric professionals across multiple departments. They observed operations in design, engineering, manufacturing, safety, and risk management. The experience provided the faculty with direct exposure to current industry trends and operational challenges.

The Bowen School uses faculty externships to align academic instruction with modern industry practices. Tepeli and Chang will incorporate their observations from the externship directly into their construction management courses across the West Lafayette and Indianapolis locations.

Gaylor Electric representatives Jeff Bryant, Christy Steffen, and Andrew Michael facilitated the on-site experience. Brad Benhart and Kyu Kang from the Purdue Construction Advisory Council coordinated the partnership.
