David AngelowDavid Angelow

Client service professional with expertise in business / technology consulting, and strategy. Skilled in account management and sales and in leading cross-functional program teams. 25 years’ experience planning and implementing organizational change and business transformation in IT, supply-chain operations and back-office functions.

Investor and entrepreneur with a passion for applying Business Model Canvas, Customer Development, and Lean Startup concepts to improve outcomes. Advisor to executives and boards of directors of nonprofit and private companies.

Elisa BertinoElisa Bertino

Professor Elisa Bertino joined Purdue in January 2004 as professor in Computer Science and research director at CERIAS. Her research interests cover many areas in the fields of information security and database systems. Her research combines both theoretical and practical aspects, addressing applications on a number of domains, such as medicine and humanities. Current research includes: access control systems, secure publishing techniques and secure broadcast for XML data; advanced RBAC models and foundations of access control models; trust negotiation languages and privacy; data mining and security; multi-strategy filtering systems for Web pages and sites; security for grid computing systems; integration of virtual reality techniques and databases; and geographical information systems and spatial databases.

Professor Bertino serves or has served on the editorial boards of several journals - many of which are related to security, such as the ACM Transactions on Information and System Security, the IEEE Security & Privacy Magazine, and IEEE Transactions on Dependable and Secure Computing. She is currently serving as program chair of the 36th International Conference on Very Large Data Bases (VLDB 2010). Professor Bertino is a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and a Fellow of ACM. She received the IEEE Computer Society Technical Achievement award in 2002 for outstanding contributions to database systems and database security and advanced data management systems, and received the 2005 Tsutomu Kanai Award by the IEEE Computer Society for pioneering and innovative research contributions to secure distributed systems.

 

Tom BrushTom Brush

Thomas (Tom) Brush is Professor of Management at the Krannert School of Management, Purdue University. His research focuses on corporate strategy and manufacturing strategy topics. His current research interests examine the disintermediation of existing business models with e-commerce initiatives. This research extends his research on supplier relationships and corporate strategy to issues such as outsourcing, e-commerce marketplaces, and online banking. He has published in Management Science, Strategic Management Journal, Production and Operations Management, Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization, Managerial and Decision Economics and Explorations in Economic History.

 

He serves on the Executive Committee of the Academy of Management. In 1991 he received the Free Press Award for Outstanding Dissertation Research in Business Policy and Strategy in its doctoral dissertation competition. He was awarded the AlliedSignal Manufacturing Management Excellence in Teaching Award in 1999. He is a member of the Academy of Management and Strategic Management Society and is on the editorial board of the Strategic Management Journal, Manufacturing and Service Operations Management, and Journal of Management.

 

Kevin FischerMr. Kevin Fischer

Principle Engineering Manager in the Advanced Manufacturing Technology organization at Rockwell Collins.  Mr. Fischer has over 30 years’ experience in engineering design and manufacturing leadership.  This includes mechanical design and manufacture of electronics equipment; leading engineering design services and tool support organizations; and leading advanced manufacturing technology pursuits and integration.  Across that time, he has provided strategic vision and leadership for multiple domains of engineering computer based tools and product lifecycle management (PLM) systems, as well as for model based manufacturing (MBm) and computer integrated manufacturing (CIM) solutions.  Mr. Fischer has cross-industry involvement in standards-based data interoperability development and application, including PDES, Inc., CAx-IF, and LOTAR.  He currently serves as the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA) Manufacturing Division Technology committee chairman.  Mr. Fischer’s education includes a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration.

thedbergThomas Hedberg

Tom comes to NIST from Honeywell Aerospace, in sunny Phoenix Arizona, where he was most recently a technical lead in the Model Based Enterprise (MBE) group for the Product Lifecycle Management department in Honeywell's Engineering Operations office. In this role, Tom was instrumental in developing a strategy and implementation for Model Based Enterprise at Honeywell. This work earned Tom and the MBE team the Honeywell Engineering & Technology VPD Productivity Award for Innovation.

Tom has a strong interest in the areas of model based enterprise, smart manufacturing, product lifecycle management (PLM), data information flow in the lifecycle, product data quality, product data visualization, and long term data archival and retrieval (LOTAR). Tom is also conducting research in the areas of product design, manufacturing, and lifecycle engineering through in-depth studying and analysis of specific issues or specialty areas with the mechanical engineering discipline.

Tom is a registered Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Arizona and is pending registration in the State of Maryland. He is a lifetime senior member of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) and an active member in the American Society of Mechanical Engineering (ASME) and the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE). When not conducting research, Tom enjoys playing ice hockey, flying, and trail biking.

 

Phil RoschePhil Rosche

Mr. Rosche is an independent contractor based in Charleston, South Carolina. Mr. Rosche’s work has focused on Model Based Enterprise, Collaborative Design, Standards Development, Consortia Management and Industrial Improvements. He has over 27 years’ experience in consortia management for research and development programs, systems interoperability testing, health care information technology, computer aided design, product data management, enterprise data sharing and exchange, and materials and production management. 

Mr. Rosche has worked at both large OEMs, such as Volvo Truck, and at small manufacturing companies. He received the prestigious Brad Rigdon Technical Management Award in 2000 for his work on the CAx-Implementor Forum (http://cax-if.org/) for PDES, Inc. He is a contributor to major periodicals and regularly asked to speak at interoperability, computer aided design, visualization, and product data management conferences.

 

Tony HemmelgarnTony Hemmelgarn - President and CEO

Tony Hemmelgarn is president and CEO of Siemens PLM Software, a business unit of the Siemens Digital Factory Division. Prior to this appointment he served as the company’s executive vice president of Global Sales, Marketing and Services. In that role he worked in partnership with Siemens PLM Software’s zone sales leaders to aggressively target geographic, industry and strategic corporate opportunities. Prior to that, Hemmelgarn was senior vice president and managing director for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). He has also held the United States country management position as well as serving as senior vice president of the Industry Vertical Organization.

Previously, he spent eight years with Intergraph Corporation, an international software firm. At Intergraph, Hemmelgarn assumed increasing levels of responsibility, progressing from technical management to regional technical director and director of Sales and Marketing. He moved to Intergraph from Cad Cam Incorporated where he headed up the services division.

 

Matthew LittlefieldMatthew Littlefield

Matthew Littlefield co-founded LNS Research in 2011 and is now President and Principal Analyst. In this role Matthew oversees LNS’s coverage of the industrial value chain. As a recognized industry expert he contributes to the widely read LNS Research blog as well as many other industry publications. Matthew is also a sought after public speaker and continually advises manufacturing executives on how to best leverage technology in their operations.

Before founding LNS Research, Matthew spent five years at the Aberdeen Group leading the Global Manufacturing Research practice, where he authored hundreds of thought leadership research reports and frequently spoke at industry leading events. Prior to the Aberdeen Group, Matthew spent five years working for several global manufacturers in both engineering and shop-floor management roles. He graduated cum laude from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst with a BA in Economics and MS in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research.

 

Mark Takacs

Driving strategy and mentoring for the Brilliant Factory initiative at GE Aviation, specifically in the Model Based Enterprise and Sensor Enabled Automation space of the Supply Chain. The Principal Engineer position is a senior technical role intended to develop the multi-year plan to reach Brilliant Factory Entitlement, as well as build out the technical organization to ensure the resources around the globe are technically competent and positioned correctly as we work to revolutionize the manufacturing organization.

 

Michael WittMichael Witt

Head of the Distributed Data Curation Center (D2C2) at the Purdue University Libraries. Also subject liaison librarian for the Department of Computer Science. Project lead for PURR, the Purdue University Research Repository (http://purr.purdue.edu). Product Lifecycle Management Center Research Fellowship, Purdue Polytechnic Institute. 2015-2017.

 

 

Larry MaggianoLarry Maggiano

Larry Maggiano is focused on the implementation of standards-based digital workflows for Mitutoyo CNC Coordinate Measurement Systems and participated in the recent NIST-sponsored Design to Manufacturing and Inspection project.
