Through a generous gift from Kiewit, one of North America’s largest and most respected construction and engineering organizations, the Purdue College of Engineering and the Purdue Polytechnic Institute will offer the Kiewit Scholars Program at Purdue. Selected students will be provided with exceptional leadership and career development experiences and opportunities as they become leading professionals in their future jobs and communities.
The Kiewit Scholars Program at Purdue invests in students with exceptional leadership potential who are poised to solve problems of global significance in the design and construction industry. Through a multi-year, cohort-based program, students will gain the skills and knowledge they need to become world-class engineers, constructors and leaders. Students selected for this program will experience exclusive courses focused on leadership development, special group activities, unique travel opportunities, exposure to industry, and mentorship from professional industry leaders.
Scholarships awards are up to $10,000 for in-state students and up to $16,000 for out-of-state students. Scholarships may be renewed based on student classification and continuing to meet program qualifications including participation in Kiewit Scholars programming throughout the academic year. In addition, Kiewit Scholars will participate in programming, events, and activities meant to enhance personal and professional growth. Participation in some activities will be required as part of the Kiewit Scholars program.
Eligible students are rising sophomores, juniors and seniors that demonstrate academic merit, leadership and civic engagement while pursuing the baccalaureate degrees in majors related to construction and design. In Purdue Polytechnic, the following majors are eligible:
- Construction Management Technology
- Design and Construction Integration
- Electrical Engineering Technology
- Mechanical Engineering Technology
