The problem that we seek to resolve is the lack of accessible energy in remote communities in the Peruvian Andes. Due to rugged terrain and isolation, connecting to the energy grid is impractical. Historically, the focused Peruvian communities haven't had access to consistent electricity, encouraging the use of short-term biomass solutions. Over long periods, this creates harmful environmental effects for those involved. Our client seeks to resolve this issue by implementing renewable energy sources that utilize the river's current and excess heat to generate electricity.
Off-grid communities lack access to reliable electricity. Existing hydropower technologies aren’t suited for low-head, low-flow applications, and commercially available systems are too costly or too complex to maintain locally without professional upkeep. The absence of portable, easy-to-maintain modules leaves households without a practical solution to generate passive, affordable energy.
